Requirements for Graduate Credit
Ohio University - Southern
In order to receive 1-2 hours of graduate credit from Ohio University Southern Campus ($150 per graduate credit hours) you will need to complete the following:
- Attend the full day School 2.0 Training on October 11th or December 6.
- Plan and execute a project or lesson with your students that implements one or more of the Web 2.0 Tools presented in the School 2.0 Training.
- Submit documentation via the wiki of your culminating project (details below).
- Attend a followup / reflection afternoon session in May of 2008. (Date to be announced)
- It is recommended that participants participate in a panel discussion session at the OACHE Conference, the SCOCA Conference or the eTech Technology Conference.
Select one of the following three choices for your culminating project, which is due by early May. The grad credit will be for Spring Quarter and must be applied for by early May.
Choice A: Student Product
Create a lesson in which students will create, or participate in creating, a product using one or more of the technologies covered in the School 2.0 Training The following materials must be submitted via the wiki:
- Project Summary: Create a wiki Teacher Page for your project and link it from the Teacher Pages.
- Lesson Plan: Post a link to your lesson on the wiki on the Teacher Pages. The lesson should be a separate wiki page based on the Lesson Plan Template.
- Student Product: Create what you expect your students to create, or provide a student sample if you have already completed the lesson plan with your class. Link to the sample product. (If you are creating a podcast, please work with your Tech Coordinator to post the podcast on your school's web site and then just link to it in the wiki. These files tend to be large and we will run out of space on the wiki if podcasts are uploaded.)
- Support Materials: Include other materials have you listed in your lesson plan that are necessary for completion of the lesson (for example: tutorials, rubrics, resources, worksheets). These can be Word documents, spreadsheets, PDF's, etc. that you would use as handouts for your students - upload the file to the wiki and create a link to it on your Teacher Page.
Choice B: Teacher Supplement
Using one or more technologies covered in the School 2.0 Training, create a product that can be used as a teaching supplement with students. This can be something used by the teacher or by the student, as long as it is created by the teacher. The following materials must be submitted via the wiki:
- Lesson Plan: Post a link to your lesson on the wiki on the Teacher Pages. The lesson should be a separate wiki page based on the Lesson Plan Template. How will this supplement be used with students?
- Product: Create a product using one or more technologies covered in the School 2.0 Training. This product should reflect skills learned in the workshop. (For example, a blog, wiki, start page for a curricualr topic, social bookmarking group, Google Earth / Google Maps KMZ file, etc.)
Choice C: Alternative
The culminating project should be something applicable to your own educational environment (tech coordinators for example) . If you have another idea for your final project, submit it to peggy@itsco.org or melissah@scoca-k12.org by early May.
